A multi-tenant data ingestion and streaming framework on AWS

We rebuilt NewDay's infrastructure code as reusable modules and delivered an event-driven service that loads data into Snowflake.

The client

NewDay is a leading UK provider of consumer credit, with its own card brands and cards for well-known retail partners.

The challenge

Every new AWS environment meant copying and adjusting a large Terraform scaffold. The duplication made changes slow and risky, and the data platform needed a dependable way to bring event data into Snowflake for several teams.

What we did

  • Reviewed the existing infrastructure code and modules for reuse.
  • Rebuilt the Terraform scaffold as a simple Terragrunt layout, so environments could be lifted and shifted cleanly.
  • Designed and built a Python ingestion application that loads data into Snowflake from an event-driven pipeline.

The result

New environments are assembled from shared modules instead of copied code, and a multi-tenant ingestion framework lands data in Snowflake as events arrive.

What the client said

  • “Altaworks turned a Terraform estate nobody wanted to touch into shared modules our engineers can extend in an afternoon. The Snowflake ingestion framework they built is still how we bring new data on board.”
