Axpo is Switzerland’s largest producer of renewable energy and an international energy trader.
The challenge
The data science team’s early models showed real promise, but there was almost no infrastructure behind them. Work happened in silos, on local machines and uncoordinated cloud resources, and the team couldn’t import, process and model data at scale.
What we did
- Started from our existing reference architectures and infrastructure modules to move quickly.
- Delivered an open-source platform based on Kubernetes and the cloud-native Argo Workflows framework.
- Gave data scientists highly customisable workflows for scheduling and orchestrating their models.
